Team Rubicon is a team of US Veterans from all branches of the military that assist the current active duty soldiers on the ground during times of disaster relief. No one asked them to do this or start it, it was the will power, drive, and courage of US military veterans who continue to serve their time and efforts in disaster relief. With the skills and experiences developed in the military, volunteers for Team Rubicon take those skills and unite with first responders in assisting in deploying medical response teams rapidly due to a natural disaster. Not only are the veterans helping others in time of need but also helping themselves, by being reintegrated into society in a way they can still use what they have learned in the military with helping disaster relief victims.
It is amazing that these men and women are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to help others in need. Currently forty three members have been deployed to the Philippines to help with reliefs efforts for the people who just suffered from the typhoon and currently awaiting the arrival of twenty five more volunteer veterans to come assist in relief efforts. It just goes to show how dedicated these men and women are even after already risking their lives to ensure our safety and freedom.
This will be my last blog for Delmarva Salutes, thank you to all who read and commented on my blogs and I hope you enjoy our show. Most of all I would like to thank the men and women of our United States Military, active and veterans for protecting our freedom and risking their lives everyday for America and its citizens. In Salisbury Maryland I’m JT Landon signing off.
